Pastor’s Welcome<\/h3><\/header>

Welcome to St. John’s website. We’re glad you’re reading this website about us and hope we get the opportunity to meet you in person.<\/p>

St. John’s is focused on\u00a0worship<\/strong>\u00a0of God, lifetime\u00a0learning<\/strong>, and lifetime\u00a0service<\/strong>.<\/p>

Sunday Worship<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>service has a traditional format with a variety of music involving pipe organ, piano, guitar, harp, and bells. Our members, particularly our youth, enjoy playing their instruments in service and our choirs add to our musical praises. Children are welcomed to bring in the food wagon, bless it then hear an age-appropriate message before enjoying their children’s worship experience.<\/p>

The preaching is thematic, scripture-based, and concludes with a “so what” for today’s implementation.<\/p>

Dress for worship encompasses the gamut of styles, so don’t let that concern you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Learning<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Bible study<\/a><\/span>\u00a0is offered on Sunday mornings as well as on\u00a0Monday evenings and Thursday mornings<\/a>.<\/span> Classes vary in curriculum and focus but everyone is welcome to come whenever they can.<\/p>

Service<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Mission activities<\/a><\/span>\u00a0are the heartbeat of St. John’s, and there is some outreach either locally, state-wide, nationally or internationally for every interest.<\/p>

What We Believe<\/h3><\/header>

Certain beliefs are\u00a0essential<\/strong>. In essential beliefs, we have unity. Other beliefs are\u00a0non-essential<\/strong>. In these we have tolerance. In all our beliefs we are called to show charity. While it is impossible to cover all of our beliefs here in a format that most people will take time to read, the following is a brief overview of some of our \u201cessential\u201d beliefs.<\/p>

The essentials:<\/strong><\/p>

We believe in the Bible<\/strong>. The Bible transcends time for it is ageless in revealing God\u2019s purpose in our world. We believe it is the inspired word of God. It is the standard by which we form our doctrine and implement our mission outreach.<\/p>

We believe in the Trinity<\/strong>. We believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit \u2013 creator, Savior and the indwelling presence of God in men, women and children. This presence inspires, energizes and motivates, essentially serving as our conscience.<\/p>

We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, died, was buried and resurrected on the third day<\/strong>\u00a0that we might have eternal life.<\/p>

We believe in the sacraments<\/strong>. We recognize two sacraments: Holy Communion and Holy Baptism. Our communion service is \u201copen\u201d meaning that all persons are invited to share this sacrament. We celebrate the sacrament of baptism by immersion, sprinkling, and pouring. Each has its own symbolic worth.<\/p>

We believe in people<\/strong>. We believe that God loved us so much that he sent his son to be born, live, die and resurrect for us. We believe that people are created in God\u2019s spiritual image. While we believe that we are made in God\u2019s image, we also acknowledge our disobedience to God, which we call \u201csin.\u201d Because of Christ\u2019s grace, we also believe in \u201csalvation\u201d or forgiveness of sin.<\/p>

We also believe that we are family<\/strong>. St. John\u2019s family is filled with many diverse elements as displayed in ethnicity, gender, age, and interests. We believe that we are large enough to offer what you are looking for and small enough to get to know you.<\/p><\/section>
