Mike Leach is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Leach Consulting Group, where he brings over 25 years of experience in leadership, organizational development, and social services to his work with health and social service organizations. Before establishing Leach Consulting Group, Mike served as the State Director at the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SC DSS), where he led the agency through significant organizational change, strengthening its ability to serve vulnerable populations across the state and spearheaded pivotal reform efforts that reshaped the agency’s safety practices, policies, and outcomes.

With a deep understanding of both the challenges and opportunities within the public and nonprofit sectors, Mike is passionate about helping organizations enhance their culture, develop resilient leadership, and implement strategies that create lasting impact. His experience spans the full spectrum of human services, including child welfare, family support, public health, and community engagement.

Throughout his career, Mike has developed a reputation for his strategic vision, operational expertise, and ability to inspire teams to meet ambitious goals. He is known for his hands-on leadership style, his dedication to fostering collaboration, and his commitment to overcoming adversity—traits that are reflected in Leach Consulting Group’s approach to helping organizations navigate complex challenges.
In addition to his work at SC DSS, Mike has coached and mentored hundreds of leaders, from frontline managers to executive directors, helping them enhance their leadership capacity and build high-performing teams. His focus is on empowering organizations to unlock their full potential, build organizational strength, and create environments where both employees and clients can thrive.

Mike is a passionate advocate for strengthening the social service and healthcare sectors, believing that strong leadership, supportive organizational cultures, and effective strategy are the keys to making a profound difference in the lives of those who rely on these critical services.
Mike Is married to his Wife Amber. They have son named Aiden. Amber is the VP of Employee experience and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle TN. Aiden loves to play baseball and hang out with his friends.
