Poems From Within: Be Encouraged

Hello, I'd like to share with you some of the reasons why I wrote these poems.

A Book of Poems from Within is based on, but not limited to, the positive encouragement that has brought comfort to my mind, body, spirit, and soul. As I sit and listen to the voice of God speaking to my spirit, I am given truths that resonate deep within me.

It all began when I realized how far off the path I had strayed due to the unfavorable thoughts and actions I was engaging in, which led to encounters with law enforcement and, ultimately, incarceration. This all started because of my abuse of alcohol, followed by drugs. But deep down, I knew this was not how I wanted to live my life.

So, I began reaching out to family, friends, recovery programs, and my spiritual family for help in connecting with God for strength and guidance. These poems came to me, and I know they were inspired by a power greater than myself or anyone else.

Even now, I pray before I begin to write, asking for help to express what I feel within my heart. I often turn to biblical scriptures for guidance, helping me grow and focus on becoming a changed man through my inner thoughts and determination, with the support of my faith.

I pray that as you read these poems and scriptures, you will find comfort and encouragement, and come to believe that there is hope for all of us to overcome the obstacles we've faced due to our past choices. Our emotions and feelings can play a significant role in how we recover and continue to rise above the mistakes we have made. No one is perfect, but change is possible I am living proof of that. I have grown spiritually and mentally, and I continue to grow with the help of God, family, and friends. You can do the same.

There is no trick or formula just trust in God and have faith in yourself, as Philippians 4:13 says: "We can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us."

I hope and pray that something expressed in these scriptures and poems will open your mind to seek help when needed and receive it. Use your past not as a hindrance, but as a prompt to make a decision. A decision to want more out of life, and to tell yourself and believe that you are worth more than what your past has been. Stand on the Word of God and believe in yourself.
